The watermelon variety SAVVIN VCUK is an early-maturing hybrid with a vegetative period from full germination to the first fruit harvest of 55-60 days. The plant is medium-vining and compact, with a vine length of about 1.5 meters, formed into 1-2 vines with short side shoots. Leaves are gray-green, medium-sized, and medium-cut, which promotes good development and fruiting.
The watermelon fruits are round with a smooth surface, featuring a light-green background with dark-green spiny stripes. The fruit mass varies from 1.5 to 2.5 kg. The flesh is dense, juicy, and has a rich red color, with a sweet taste and a total sugar content of at least 13%. The fruit rind is light green, 2-3 mm thick, quite dense, flexible, and resistant to cracking, ensuring high marketability and good transportability of watermelons.
The hybrid is resistant to low-virulence races of anthracnose, tolerant to powdery mildew and fusarium wilt, making it a reliable choice for cultivation. When formed into two vines per plant, 6-7 fruits are harvested. The recommended planting scheme for drip irrigation is 1.4 x 1 m, while in the absence of irrigation, the distance between rows is increased based on local conditions. In southern regions, watermelons are grown by direct sowing, while in other regions and greenhouses, through 20-day seedlings. The yield of the variety exceeds 7 kg per square meter.
