Marakesh F1 watermelon — an early hybrid of the Crimson Sweet type, developed by the Dutch company Ergon Seeds. The vegetative period is 80-85 days from germination and 60-65 days from transplanting. The plant is long-vined with a strong root system and dense foliage, providing high resistance to stress and adaptability to various climatic conditions. The hybrid can form one to four fruits per plant even under adverse conditions, and it is also resistant to diseases such as anthracnose and fusarium wilt.
The fruits of Marakesh watermelon have a round-oval shape and weigh on average 10 to 13 kg, sometimes reaching 17 kg. The medium-thick, firm rind is not prone to cracking and is green with clearly visible light stripes. The flesh is bright red, dense, crisp, fiber-free, and high in sugar content — the Brix level reaches 11-13%. The seeds inside are few, making the fruit especially appealing to consumers. Thanks to its high sugar content and juiciness, Marakesh watermelons are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing into juices, pickles, or preservation.
The Marakesh F1 hybrid is characterized by high productivity and long storage life — fruits retain their quality for several months after harvest. The plant easily withstands drought and low temperatures, forming fruit even at 15℃. Due to its strong immune system and resistance to fungal diseases, the watermelon can be successfully grown in all regions of the country without special conditions. This hybrid is popular among farmers and buyers due to its stable yield, excellent taste, and versatility of use.
