Description BYKOVSKIY 22
The Bykovskiy 22 watermelon variety belongs to mid-late varieties with a maturation period of 92-105 days from full germination to the first fruit harvest. The plant is of medium power and medium climbing ability, with the main tendril length being less than 2 meters. The stem is rounded-angled with sparse pubescence, and the leaf is narrow, medium-sized, and deeply lobed with narrow leaflets. The ovary is spherical, also with sparse pubescence.

Bykovskiy 22 watermelon fruits have an oval shape and medium size, with a mass ranging from 4.3 to 5 kg. The fruit skin is of medium thickness, flexible, and sturdy, ensuring good transportability. The fruit color is light green with narrow or wide green prickly stripes. The flesh is pink or reddish-pink, grainy, juicy, and sweet, with good taste qualities.

The variety is characterized by high commercial yield, reaching 21.0-35.5 tons per hectare. Bykovskiy 22 is valued for its drought resistance and ability to maintain quality during transportation. It is moderately susceptible to powdery mildew, which should be taken into account during cultivation. It is recommended to grow on sunny plots with a planting interval of 70x150 cm.
