The Big Max (Great Max) pumpkin variety is a large-fruited type capable of producing fruits weighing over 50 kg. The fruits are nearly round, up to 80 cm in diameter, with a bright orange or yellow-orange color and thick flesh approximately 10 cm in thickness. The flesh has a rich yellow or orange hue, making this variety especially attractive for culinary use, such as in pies, as well as for long-term storage.
To obtain large, high-quality fruits, it is recommended to leave no more than one or two pumpkins per stem, pinching off the tips after the formation of 3-5 fruits. This approach promotes the development and ripening of large specimens with beautiful round shapes without deformities. The ripening period is 110-120 days after sowing, allowing for planning cultivation in fertile soil with adequate moisture and space.
The Big Max variety is characterized by high yield and is suitable for cultivation in both amateur and professional settings. Due to their large size and dense flesh, these pumpkins are often used for exhibitions and competitions, as well as valued for their versatility and good storage qualities.
