Vinca — a cherry variety of Ukrainian selection, developed by crossing the varieties Franz Joseph and Early Mark. The tree has a high form and a round, moderately dense crown, reaching a height of about 5 meters and a crown diameter of approximately 7 meters. The plant is medium-sized, with strong branches, fruits on one-year-old shoots, and the first fruits appear as early as the third year after planting. The variety is characterized by regular and high yield, with fruit ripening in mid-to-late June, corresponding to an average ripening period. The fruits of Vinca are large, weighing 7 to 8 grams, heart-shaped, with dark red or dark burgundy, sometimes nearly black, dense and shiny skin. The flesh is juicy, dense, dark cherry-colored, with a pleasant flavor combining sweetness and refreshing acidity. Due to its taste qualities, the berries are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. The Vinca variety exhibits high resistance to diseases such as moniliosis, coccomycosis, and canker, as well as moderate to high winter hardiness, making it suitable for cultivation in southern and central regions of Ukraine. These characteristics ensure stable fruiting and allow successful cultivation under various climatic conditions.
