Field experience with Durango peas

Working with vegetable peas from Monsanto usually means expecting consistency, and 'Durango' definitely delivers on that front. This mid-season hybrid, with a vegetation period of 70–80 days, allows for precise harvest scheduling. From an agronomic standpoint, its standout quality is resilience. We planted it in fields with a history of powdery mildew, and 'Durango' showed excellent resistance. Fusarium wilt, which often ruins crops under stress, was not a significant threat to this hybrid.

The pods of 'Durango' are distinctly pointed, measuring 9–10 cm in length. For those using harvesting machinery, this is an optimal size — the pods are firm and well-filled, which minimizes harvest losses and shattering. The peas themselves are uniform and offer high marketability, making them a great choice for the fresh produce sector.
