NUT, also known as Turkish pea, is an ancient legume crop that has been gaining increasing popularity among Ukrainian farmers and gardeners in recent years. Thanks to its high plant-based protein content, drought resistance, and excellent agronomic properties, NUT is becoming a promising alternative to traditional crops such as peas, beans, and soybeans. The climatic conditions of Ukraine, including fertile soils and abundant sunny days, create favorable conditions for the stable cultivation of this crop.
NUT is a rich source not only of protein but also of dietary fibers, vitamins, and minerals, including iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and folic acid. It also contains antioxidants and saponins, which may have beneficial effects on health. Due to its nutritional properties, NUT is widely used in the cuisines of various countries: its seeds are used to prepare soups, salads, fried snacks, as well as flour, which serves as the basis for bread and baking.
Among the NUT varieties, "Stepoviy Vellet" stands out as an agricultural crop intended for sowing and cultivation. This variety, like others, is suitable for growing under Ukrainian climatic conditions and can be used in both traditional and export-oriented agriculture. NUT continues to gain positions on international markets, opening additional opportunities for farmers.
