Tulip Yellow Springgreen

Cultivation Insight: Yellow Springgreen

The Yellow Springgreen tulip belongs to the Viridiflora class, known for its distinct green streaks and robust structure. For growers, this hybrid offers a unique market position due to its late-flowering schedule and high ornamental value.

Operational Performance

• Growth Habits: With an average plant height, the variety is highly manageable in greenhouse conditions. The stems are strong, providing excellent support for the blooms without the need for additional stakes, which simplifies the harvesting process.
• Flowering Cycle: As a late-season bloomer, it is ideal for extending the sales window after primary spring harvests have concluded.
• Durability and Maintenance: The key advantage of the Viridiflora class is the thickness of the petals. Yellow Springgreen stands out for its exceptional vase life. During transportation, the blooms retain their structure well, resulting in lower shrinkage rates compared to standard delicate varieties.

From an operator's perspective, success with this hybrid relies on humidity control. Because of the slow bloom development, ensuring good airflow is essential to prevent fungal issues on the unique green-pigmented foliage. It is a predictable variety that rewards standard maintenance protocols with high-quality, high-margin yields for the floral market.
