Tulip Fly Away

Beyond Aesthetics: The Resilience of the Fly Away Tulip

Lily-flowered tulips are often praised for their elegance but criticized for their fragility. The Fly Away variety breaks this cycle, proving that a sophisticated silhouette can indeed be paired with robust plant health. Unlike many cultivars that succumb to minor environmental stresses, Fly Away offers a predictable and reliable performance for growers.

A Fortress Against Disease

The defining characteristic of this hybrid is its comprehensive resistance profile. While typical lily-flowered tulips are frequent victims of soil-borne pathogens, Fly Away shows significant immunity to Verticillium and Fusarium wilt. Furthermore, its resilience against Cladosporium and Tomato Mosaic Virus makes it a far safer investment than its more sensitive counterparts. For the commercial producer, this equates to reduced fungicide applications and higher yield consistency.

Visual Impact and Structure

The color palette of Fly Away—a vibrant red base complemented by elegant lilac margins—sets it apart in any floral arrangement or garden bed. As a mid-season bloomer of average height, it maintains a perfect structural balance; the stems are strong enough to withstand wind and rain without the need for constant support. This makes it an ideal selection for:

• Commercial cut-flower production requiring high market viability.
• Landscape design projects where durability and aesthetics must coexist.
• Growers looking for a low-maintenance, high-impact spring variety.

If you are looking for the "golden mean" between the delicate look of a lily-flowered tulip and the reliability of a modern hybrid, Fly Away is the cornerstone your collection needs.
