Tulip Pomerol

Strategic Late-Season Harvest

The 'Pomerol' tulip is a distinguished member of the Single Late class, highly valued in professional floriculture for its reliability and commercial viability. Its tall, robust stems and structural integrity make it a preferred choice for high-end bouquet production and large-scale landscaping projects.

Agricultural Resilience

For growers looking to minimize operational risks in open-field cultivation, 'Pomerol' offers a significant advantage: a strong inherent resistance to fungal pathogens. By reducing the reliance on aggressive chemical fungicide programs, this variety supports sustainable farming practices while maintaining crop health under challenging conditions, specifically against:

• Powdery mildew;
• Anthracnose;
• Peronospora;
• Cladosporiosis.

This natural defense profile is particularly effective in mitigating losses caused by high humidity or fluctuating spring temperatures.

Field Application

‘Pomerol’ is specifically utilized by growers to extend the sales season, capturing the late-spring market window after primary tulip varieties have finished blooming. The plant's height simplifies harvesting operations, while its delicate pink hue remains a staple in floral design. To maximize crop uniformity and stem length, standard agricultural management should focus on optimal soil drainage, allowing the root system to fully support the plant's later development stages.
