Tulip Lily Jumbo

Engineering Aesthetics of the 'Lily Jumbo' Tulip

Within the lily-flowered tulip class, 'Lily Jumbo' stands out due to its specific bud architecture. Unlike traditional cup-shaped varieties, this hybrid forms an elongated, narrow flower with a signature outward petal recurve. This geometry provides not only visual grace but also increased resistance to lodging, as the blossom's wind resistance is kept to a minimum.

Agrotechnical Indicators

• Blooming Period: Mid-to-late. The plant is balanced in its vegetation rate, allowing for the development of a sturdy peduncle by the time of peak bloom.
• Color Palette: Deep red tone. The pigmentation features high photostability: the petals retain their saturation even under direct UV exposure.
• Height Parameters: Medium height. The variety is optimal for cut flower production and mid-ground landscaping, maintaining a proportional ratio between stem height and bud size.

Practical Application and Resilience

Technically, 'Lily Jumbo' is engineered for both intensive forcing and open-field cultivation. The petal structure is dense, which minimizes damage during transportation, while the medium stem height ensures excellent structural rigidity. Under production conditions, the cultivar demonstrates a stable propagation coefficient, provided the thermal regime is managed during the floral bud initiation stage. This is a solution for those seeking the perfect balance between the elegant form of lily-flowered tulips and the reliability of classic red hybrids.
