Astra Assol Woronezh is a compact annual plant with good growth strength and excellent branching, reaching a height of 55-70 cm and a bush diameter of up to 40 cm. The inflorescences of this variety are flat-round, very large, up to 12 cm in diameter, densely double-flowered, and bright red in color, which gives the plant high decorativeness and an effective bright coloration of the limb petals. Flowering is abundant and synchronized, lasting from July to October, while the long flower stalks make the variety especially suitable for cutting and creating elegant floral compositions on flower beds, flower beds, and rabattas.
Astra is unpretentious to growing conditions, grows well on any soils, preferring light places, but tolerates semi-shade and drought, while developing poorly on waterlogged soils. For cultivation, seeds are sown in March-April in greenhouses or hotbeds at a depth of 0.5 cm at a distance of 3-4 cm, watering daily with a spray bottle. Seedlings are grown at a temperature of +16-20°C, pricked out after the appearance of a pair of true leaves. Transplanting to a permanent place is carried out in May, at which time the plant adapts well even during flowering. Seeds are sown in the open ground at the end of April-May in grooves 1 cm deep at a distance of 20x50 cm, and after the appearance of 2-3 true leaves, thinning is carried out, leaving 10-15 cm between plants.
Care for the astra includes regular watering, weeding, and feeding at least 1-2 times per season. Thanks to its characteristics and bright coloring, the astra Assol Woronezh is widely used for cutting and decorating flower beds, creating effective group and single plantings.
