Peony Cassiope

Practical Application in Landscape Design

The 'Cassiopeia' tree peony is a distinguished selection from the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Standing at only 60 cm, it defies the common perception of tree peonies as massive shrubs, making it a functional choice for modern garden planning where space and vertical hierarchy are critical.

Deployment Scenarios

• Front-line Bordering: Its compact stature allows it to be planted in the foreground of flower beds without obstructing the view of lower-growing perennials. The anemone-shaped, 15 cm wide coral-pink blooms provide a vibrant, professional finish to path edges.
• Solitary Accents: In smaller gardens or courtyard areas, grouping 3–5 plants creates a dense, flowering mound that requires minimal maintenance compared to herbaceous alternatives.
• Controlled Growth Settings: The variety's natural shape is stable, requiring little to no structural pruning. This reduces maintenance labor for property owners and professional landscapers alike.

For optimal performance, site selection is the primary agronomic operation. 'Cassiopeia' is a sun-loving variety. If placed in partial shade, the plant will prioritize stem elongation over floral production, weakening its architectural value. During its peak flowering window (May 31 – June 15), the plant acts as a bridge between late spring and early summer species. Whether used in private estate landscaping or municipal garden projects, 'Cassiopeia' remains a reliable choice for achieving a high-end decorative effect with standard horticultural inputs.
