Description STYARD
STYARD is a winter triticale variety intended for fodder use and recommended for cultivation in the Central, Volga-Vyatsk, North Caucasian, and Middle Volga regions of Russia. It features a hexaploid chromosome set and is distinguished by its very tall stature with red grain. The variety's vegetative period ranges from 192 to 272 days, while plant height varies between 119–138 cm.

The variety demonstrates high dry matter yield, reaching a maximum of 341 c/ha, recorded in the Republic of Crimea. Yields vary across different regions: in the Central region, the average is 91 c/ha with a standard increase of 18.6 c/ha, in the North Caucasian region it is 130.2 c/ha with an increase of 10.6 c/ha, while in the Volga-Vyatsk and Middle Volga regions, yields match the standards at 60.5 c/ha and 76.3 c/ha, respectively. In certain areas, such as Nizhny Novgorod and Penza, the variety also exceeded average yield figures.

STYARD exhibits enhanced resistance to lodging and frost hardiness, ensuring reliability under adverse climatic conditions. Winter hardiness is rated as moderate, while drought resistance ranges from moderate to enhanced. Under field conditions, the variety shows moderate susceptibility to snow mold, indicating its adaptive qualities. Thanks to these characteristics, STYARD is a promising choice for fodder production in the specified regions.
