SMALL WONDER

The tomato variety "Small Wonder" is an early-maturing plant that ripens 95-100 days after germination. The plants are medium-sized, with small leaves and dense silvery hairs on all parts of the plant. The first flower cluster forms above the 6th-7th leaf, and subsequent clusters form every 1-2 leaves, with clusters also forming actively on suckers. Each cluster contains 6-8 round fruits with pointed tips, weighing 25-35 grams. The fruits are deep red with golden stripes, have a sweet flavor with a slight pleasant acidity, making them ideal for fresh consumption as well as for canning. A distinctive feature of this variety is its high yield and prolonged fruiting period. The plants are resistant to pest damage and major fungal diseases due to their hairy covering. The tomato is versatile in cultivation: suitable for open ground, greenhouses, and container gardening. It can be grown as a determinate bush with support, cultivated in a flat without support, or used as a trailing plant in tall containers. The recommended planting density when grown with support is 3-4 plants per square meter, and in a flat — 2 plants per square meter. Yield reaches 7.5 kg/m² in open ground and 8.5-10 kg/m² in protected ground. Additionally, the variety features a compact bush size — height of 20-25 cm — making it suitable not only for gardens but also for decorative purposes. Due to the attractive appearance of fruits with color changing from yellow through purple to red, the tomato "Small Wonder" is valued as a potted houseplant and for decorating outdoor flowerbeds. It can be grown from seedlings sown in March-April or directly sown into open ground in May.
