Tomato Metro F1 is an early, high-yielding cherry hybrid developed by the Dutch company Nunhems Zaden. The plant is determinate, low-growing, with abundant foliage and short internodes, ensuring compactness and ease of cultivation. The hybrid shows high adaptability to climatic conditions and responds well to good agronomic practices. It can be grown in open ground, including heavy soils, with a planting density of 30-35 thousand plants per hectare. Metro F1 exhibits high resistance to common solanaceous diseases such as verticillium wilt, fusarium, and bacterial spot, as well as intermediate resistance to nematodes, significantly reducing the risk of crop loss.
The fruits of Tomato Metro F1 have a round-oval or cube-shaped form, bright red color, and weigh 25-30 grams. They are uniform in color and weight, have a dense skin, and juicy flesh, ensuring high transportability and marketability. The fruits have a pleasant sweet flavor and strong aroma, are resistant to cracking, and contain a high level of dry matter. Technical maturity is reached 100-105 days after sowing, enabling early harvest.
This tomato hybrid is versatile in application: suitable for fresh consumption in salads and retail, as well as for industrial processing, including canning and sauce production. Due to its suitability for mechanized harvesting, Metro F1 is an excellent choice for industrial cultivation and commercial use.
