SHALYNA EMPRESS

The tomato variety Shalyana Empress is a medium-early, tall hybrid developed by breeders of the Southern Urals. Plants can reach a height of 180–200 cm and require mandatory staking due to their slender and weak stems. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 7 kg per plant and 9.1 kg per square meter, achieved through short internodes, a large number of flower clusters, and high fruit set. Fruit production begins 95–115 days after germination, allowing harvest to start in early to mid-July.

The fruits of this tomato have a heart-shaped, round form, weighing from 100 g to 1 kg depending on growing conditions and plant pruning. Their color ranges from pink with a raspberry tint to red without a green spot at the stem attachment. The flesh is juicy, sweet, granular when broken, with a thin skin and few seeds. Due to their flavor qualities, the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling, canning, and making sauces, ketchups, and pastes, while retaining their original taste.

The Shalyana Empress variety adapts well to various climatic conditions and grows successfully both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. It is resistant to diseases such as blossom end rot, verticillium wilt, and tobacco mosaic virus, making it a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners. High commercial qualities, uniform fruit size, good storability, and transportability make this tomato promising for commercial cultivation.
