SHALUN

Shalun tomato is an early-maturing Siberian cherry variety distinguished by high resilience and strong immunity to late blight and tobacco mosaic virus. The plant is indeterminate, reaching up to 2 meters in height, yet its bushes remain compact and require pruning to 2-3 stems with mandatory support. Leaves are medium-sized, with a deep green color. Inflorescences are complex, forming long clusters bearing numerous fruits — up to 30 per cluster.

Shalun tomato fruits have an inverted egg-shaped form and are colored magenta-pink. They are small in size, weighing between 11 to 30 grams, with a thin but tough and crisp skin, ensuring excellent transportability and resistance to cracking during canning and pickling. The flesh is medium-dense, juicy, sweet with a slight acidity, giving the fruits a unique balanced flavor. Thanks to these qualities, the tomatoes are ideal for fresh consumption, salad preparation, buffet dishes, and canning whole clusters.

The Shalun variety is well-adapted to unstable climates and risky agriculture, making it popular among gardeners and commercial organizations. It can be grown both in open ground and under plastic coverings, though for optimal results, cultivation in greenhouses is recommended.
