SHAGANE

Tomato Shagane is an early-maturing indeterminate hybrid developed by Kazakh and Russian breeders. The plants are strong-growing with a compact habit and main stem height up to 2 meters. Inflorescences are simple, forming 7 to 11 fruits in a cluster, ensuring high yield. Fruits have a flat-round shape, smooth or slightly ribbed, red in color, weighing about 90-100 grams, distinguished by excellent taste and quality. This variety is resistant to several diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiasis, gall nematode, and partially fusarium wilt. It also shows moderate susceptibility to phytophthora, macrosporiasis, and septoria. Due to its weak branching ability, the plants are easier to manage and prune, which is especially important for cultivation in protected soil. Tomato Shagane is recommended for cultivation in winter greenhouses during winter-spring and summer-autumn cycles, where it demonstrates high yield — up to 11.5 kg per square meter in winter-spring and about 4.9 kg in summer-autumn. This hybrid is suitable for regions with varying climatic conditions, ensuring stable and high-quality harvests.
