The «Serpnevyi podarunok» tomato is the result of years of research by scientists at the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Registered in 2025, this variety was developed to meet the needs of professional greenhouse farms requiring reliable planting material for protected ground. Created through selective breeding (SZ), this hybrid embodies modern standards of productivity and adaptability to controlled growing environments.

Agrobiological Profile

The plant is of the indeterminate type, requiring training and staking. However, the long internodes between the 1st and 4th inflorescences ensure excellent ventilation and ease of maintenance. The foliage is characterized by a strong intensity of green color, with bipinnate leaves in a semi-drooping position, which serves as a key morphological marker for this variety.

Fruit Characteristics

«Serpnevyi podarunok» produces small-sized fruits with a round longitudinal and cross-sectional shape. Key fruit features include:

• Number of seed chambers: strictly two.
• Absence of a «green shoulder» before ripening.
• Thin pericarp and small core diameter.
• Medium-sized peduncle and blossom scars.

Due to the absence of flower fasciation and weak ribbing near the peduncle, the tomatoes have a high market quality, making them ideal for both fresh consumption and whole-fruit canning.

Role in Crop Production

This 2025 novelty is intended exclusively for greenhouse cultivation. The absence of anthocyanin coloration in the hypocotyl and the upper third of the stem confirms the purity of the genetic line. It is a balanced choice for farmers focusing on yield stability and predictable crop development in protected conditions.
