Tomato Tomatina

Commercial Potential and Logistics

The "Tomatina" F1 hybrid, introduced by Sakata Vegetables Europe S.A.S. in 2025, is designed for professional vegetable production where yield stability and fruit uniformity are paramount. This American-bred variety focuses on fruit density, which is a critical factor for commercial success in modern retail environments.

Crop Utilization

• Fresh Market: With a firm skin and balanced flavor profile, Tomatina is an ideal candidate for supermarket chains. The fruits maintain their structural integrity during packaging and display, ensuring a premium appearance for the end consumer.
• Transportability: Due to its genetically engineered resilience, Tomatina handles long-distance shipping exceptionally well. This reduces post-harvest losses, making it a reliable choice for large-scale agricultural enterprises that require robust logistics.
• Processing: The high dry matter content makes this hybrid suitable not only for fresh consumption but also for industrial processing. It is excellent for producing thick sauces and pastes, while its firm flesh ensures that the fruits remain intact and visually appealing when used in whole-canning applications.

The 2025 registration confirms that Tomatina is tailored for current agricultural demands, prioritizing technology-driven traits that withstand the rigors of the modern supply chain.
