Tomato TARRAGONA

French Breeding for the Premium Market

The Tarragona F1 tomato from the HM.CLAUSE breeding house embodies modern standards for professional vegetable production. This indeterminate hybrid, registered in Ukraine in 2026, is focused on producing large-fruited yields with outstanding taste qualities, making it an ideal choice for the fresh market segment.

Market Appearance and Gastronomy

The fruits of this hybrid stand out due to their flattened shape and pronounced ribbing, which gives them the aesthetic of a "home-grown" or "farm-style" tomato. Thanks to the thick pericarp and dense structure, Tarragona handles transportation exceptionally well, maintaining its commercial appeal even during long-distance logistics. Inside, the fruit features more than six seed chambers and a medium-sized core, ensuring a meaty texture and rich flavor highly sought after by the restaurant industry and retail chains.

Agronomic Features and Purpose

The plant possesses a robust leaf apparatus with an intense green color, which facilitates efficient photosynthesis and sugar accumulation. The presence of a green shoulder near the peduncle before full ripening is a marker of the natural nutrient accumulation process. The hybrid is designed for cultivation in protected soil, where its potential is fully realized:

• Fresh Consumption: An ideal option for salad mixes and slicing due to its balanced flavor profile.
• Storage: The dense skin and thick walls allow the fruits to remain fresh for a long time after harvest.
• Transportability: Resistance to mechanical damage makes the variety suitable for supply to large retail chains.

Tarragona is the choice for those who prioritize fruit quality, weight, and appeal to the end consumer who values the true taste of a tomato.
