Tomato REDIX

Field Strategy for Redix F1

The Dutch breeding expertise of Syngenta Crop Protection AG is embodied in Redix F1, a hybrid registered in Ukraine in 2026, designed for professional vegetable growers operating in a changing climate. This tomato demonstrates exceptional adaptability to environmental stressors, which is crucial for securing a marketable yield in regions with volatile temperature patterns.

Response to Climatic Challenges

In field conditions, Redix F1 exhibits high tolerance to temperature fluctuations. The hybrid's genetic potential allows it to maintain fruit set even during extreme summer heat, when many varieties suffer from flower drop. The root system possesses high vigor, ensuring efficient moisture uptake from deeper soil layers, which effectively mitigates the impact of short-term droughts.

Phytosanitary Profile and Agronomics

Syngenta breeders have integrated comprehensive resistance to key pathogens common in tomato plantations into Redix F1. This significantly reduces pesticide reliance and allows for optimized treatment schedules. The plant features a balanced habit: a sturdy stem prevents lodging even under heavy fruit loads, simplifying maintenance and mechanical harvesting. The optimal leaf-to-fruit ratio provides natural shading, protecting the tomatoes from sunscald.

Growing Regions

The hybrid delivers consistent results in both open-field cultivation and plastic greenhouses. Due to its plasticity, Redix F1 is suitable for all soil and climatic zones of Ukraine, offering predictable yields and uniform fruit quality, making it a reliable asset for commercial production.
