Tomato PRESENCE

Prioritizing Fruit Size and Marketability

The «Presence» tomato hybrid from the breeders at Seminis (Monsanto) is a strategic choice for growers targeting the premium pink «beef» tomato segment. In commercial production, this hybrid is valued for its consistency; within a maturation window of 100–120 days, the plant produces substantial fruits that reliably exceed the 200-gram threshold.

Agronomic Advantages

• Market-Leading Shape and Color: The heart-shaped fruit, combined with a deep pink hue, makes this tomato a top performer in fresh produce markets. Consumers gravitate towards these meaty, visually distinct fruits.
• Robust Logistics: A defining feature of the «Presence» hybrid is its excellent transportability. Despite the tender texture expected from pink varieties, the hybrid features a resilient skin that allows for long-distance shipping without the risk of compromising the fruit's integrity.
• Seed Material Reliability: Utilizing professional-grade seeds from Monsanto ensures high germination rates and uniform seedling growth, which is essential for industrial-scale harvest planning.

Cultivation and Practical Application

This hybrid is best suited for open-field production or plastic greenhouses. Given its extended vegetation period, «Presence» accumulates significant dry matter and sugars, which directly enhances its flavor profile. When cultivating, growers must prioritize timely trellising and pruning; given the large fruit size, the load on the fruit clusters is high, making structural support a necessary operational task. This variety is an ideal inclusion for farms aiming to supply supermarket chains or specialized vegetable retailers that demand large, high-quality, and visually appealing produce.
