Tomato MALINOVY GIGANT

Technical profile of the «Malinoviy Gigant» hybrid by Sedek

The breeding work of the Sedek team (originators S.V. Dubinin, I.N. Dubinina, A.N. Lukyanenko) aimed to develop a high-yielding determinant tomato that combines large fruit size with high adaptability to stress conditions. Let's examine the key parameters of this seed material from an agrotechnological perspective.

Biological traits and plant habit

The determinant growth type limits stem development, which is critical for planning the load on the bush. The plant forms a powerful foliage apparatus that effectively converts solar energy into fruit mass. A ripening period of 100–120 days places this variety in the mid-season group, allowing farmers to build an efficient supply schedule.

Phytopathological resistance

The practical value of «Malinoviy Gigant» lies in its comprehensive genetic protection:

• Bacteriosis: the crop demonstrates pronounced resistance to bacterial infections, reducing the need for aggressive fungicide applications during the active vegetative stage.
• Mycosphaerella and brown spots: the selection solutions provided by the Sedek brand minimize the risks of leaf surface loss due to these pathogens, maintaining photosynthetic activity until harvest.

Commercial product characteristics

The round-shaped fruits, weighing over 200 grams, feature a distinct pink color due to high levels of lycopene and antioxidants. An important engineering characteristic of the variety is the balance between flesh density and shelf life: with high yields (100–130 tons per hectare), the tomatoes retain excellent transportability. This allows the variety to be used for both local markets and retail chains that require a stable commercial appearance of produce after shipping.
