Cucumber SALATIK

Operational insights for the "Salatik" cucumber hybrid

When managing greenhouse or open-field crops, the efficiency of the plant is paramount. "Salatik" is a generative-type hybrid, which significantly simplifies maintenance for the operator. Because the plant focuses its energy on fruit development rather than excessive foliage growth, pruning and canopy management become much more predictable tasks.

Key performance factors

• Parthenocarpic growth: As the hybrid does not require pollination, it is perfectly suited for glass greenhouses where insect access is restricted. This eliminates the need for additional equipment or bee management.
• Crop management: You are dealing with smooth-skinned fruits weighing up to 200 grams. For the producer, this means less time spent on cleaning and sorting, resulting in a cleaner, more marketable look straight off the vine.
• Versatility: The hybrid performs reliably in both glasshouses and open ground, allowing you to standardize your seed inventory and simplify the planting rotation across different climate zones.

Developed by the team of E. R. Kudryavtseva and colleagues, this hybrid is designed for those who prioritize stability. From an agronomic standpoint, "Salatik" is a high-yield, low-maintenance choice. By minimizing the complexities of pollination and foliage management, it allows the operator to focus on consistent production cycles and high-quality market output.
