Kuban

The tomato variety Kuban is a medium-maturing, determinate variety, intended for cultivation in open ground and under plastic covers. The vegetation period ranges from 85 to 117 days depending on growing conditions. The plant is low-growing, reaching 55 to 70 cm in height, with simple inflorescences forming above the 6th–7th leaf and then every 1–2 leaves thereafter. Leaves are of medium size and green in color, promoting good photosynthesis and plant development. Kuban tomato fruits have a cylindrical or plum-like shape, smooth surface, and are deep red when fully ripe. Fruit weight varies from 60 to 110 grams; they are juicy and possess excellent flavor, making the variety versatile for fresh consumption as well as processing into tomato products. Each fruit contains 2–3 locules, ensuring good flesh density and structure. The variety is characterized by high yield — more than 6.5 kg per square meter. It responds well to irrigation and is resistant to blossom end rot, enhancing fruit quality and storage. Additionally, Kuban tomato is suitable for single-pass mechanical harvesting and has good transportability, making it convenient for commercial cultivation and marketing.
