Tomato CHERNOMOR

A reliable mid-season choice for connoisseurs of «black» tomatoes

The «Chernomor» tomato is the result of years of selection work by experts at the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production. Created by a team of researchers led by Irina Kondratieva and Elena Kandoba, this variety has secured a strong position in the mid-season market with its unique coloring. As a product of an experimental research station, «Chernomor» has gained popularity among farmers targeting the premium fresh vegetable market.

Agrotechnological Profile

The determinant growth habit makes this variety suitable for both open-field cultivation and greenhouse production. The growing season ranges from 100 to 120 days. Under proper agrotechnical conditions, the crop demonstrates an impressive yield potential, exceeding 190 tons per hectare, which is a significant performance metric for large-fruited determinant varieties.

Fruit Characteristics and Commercial Value

• Size: Fruits weighing over 200 grams feature a classic round shape.
• Color Palette: The unique coloration, combining red and brown tones, helps the variety stand out on retail shelves, attracting consumers looking for rich, intense flavors.
• Logistics: Excellent transportability and a shelf life exceeding 30 days post-harvest allow producers to supply retail chains without compromising quality.

«Chernomor» is a balanced choice for those seeking a combination of the reliability traditional to large tomatoes and the modern market demand for fruit with high sugar content and specific pigment profiles.
