Tomato Chaušansky

Developed by the Cherkasy IAAS UAAS, the 'Chausyanskyi' tomato variety is a robust choice for growers focused on high-yield production with minimal loss risks. With a vegetation period of 120–130 days, this mid-to-late variety is perfect for securing high-quality produce at the end of the harvest season.

Agronomic Advantages

The primary value of 'Chausyanskyi' lies in its notable resistance to late blight (phytophthora). In the humid conditions of late summer, when many other varieties require aggressive fungicide applications, this tomato maintains its vegetative health and continues fruit development. For the agronomist, this translates into lower production costs and reduced risk of harvest loss.

Practical Applications

• Fresh Market: Flat-round fruits weighing over 200 grams are highly sought after by customers looking for classic salad-type tomatoes. The firm skin allows for excellent transportability, ensuring the fruit reaches the end consumer without bruising or damage.
• Processing: Thanks to its deep red color and fleshy interior, this variety is ideal for juice, paste, and sauce production. High yields per square meter make it a cost-effective option for both small-scale farmers and home gardeners.

The variety shows great adaptability to various soil types across Ukraine. It is highly manageable in open-field conditions, requiring standard maintenance operations such as staking and pruning, which helps maintain a steady workflow for field crews.
