Chinouk

Chinouk tomato is a medium-early indeterminate variety developed by Canadian breeder Karen Oliver. Plants grow to a height of about 1.4–1.8 meters, featuring a sturdy, drooping form with regular leaves, distinguishing this variety from some other purple tomatoes with potato leaves. The seeds of this variety are stabilized at the F8 level, ensuring consistent traits during cultivation.

Chinouk fruits have a distinctive heart shape with smooth shoulders and a rich chocolate-purple hue. They are large, weighing between 300 to 500 grams, meaty and firm, yet not dry, with a small number of seeds. The flesh has a deep, rich color and a bright, spicy flavor with a slight acidity and a strong aroma, making this variety especially appealing to gourmet enthusiasts.

Chinouk is suitable for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses, thanks to its sturdy structure and medium maturity. Fruits form in clusters of 3–4, ensuring a good yield. This is a new breeding variety prized for its high flavor quality and decorative fruit appearance, making it an excellent choice for both amateur and professional cultivation.
