The fruits of Tomato Ashkelon are round, weighing 220–240 grams, with smooth and firm skin that does not crack. Their color varies from dark brown to dark cherry-red, and under high summer temperatures, they take on a reddish-brown hue. The tomatoes are multi-chambered and possess a unique harmonious taste, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption. The hybrid is characterized by good marketability and transportability.
Ashkelon is resistant to a range of diseases, including tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), verticillium and fusarium wilt (Va, Vd, Fol 1–3).
