AVDEEVSKY

The tomato variety Avdeevsky is a medium-maturing, determinate variety developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Irrigated Vegetable and Melon Cultivation. The plant is medium-height, reaching 75-90 cm, with medium-sized green leaves and simple clusters. The peduncle has a joint, facilitating harvest. The variety is characterized by uniform fruiting and good transportability, making it convenient for cultivation and marketing.

The fruits of Avdeevsky tomato are large, round-oval or round, bright red, weighing 150-350 g, fleshy and dense, steak-type. The skin is elastic and strong, with increased wall thickness, which contributes to preservation during transport and storage. The fruits contain more than six small seed chambers, with dry matter content of about 5.68%, sugars — 3.20%, and ascorbic acid — 11.2 mg%. Unripe fruits are light green without spots at the base.

The variety is characterized by high yield — 5 to 8 kg per plant, equivalent to 68.8-91.3 t/ha with marketability of 94.6-99.4%. Avdeevsky is resistant to heat, cracking, and fungal diseases, enhancing its reliability under various climatic conditions. Recommended for fresh consumption, preparing tasty and nutritious salads, and processing into tomato products.
