Timothy grass variety TENHO – a perennial grass culture used as feed and lawn covering. The variety is distinguished by high dry matter yield: in the third region, the average figure is 37.2 c/ha, which is 0.2 c/ha higher than the standard average, and the maximum yield is 88.2 c/ha, exceeding the Sammagrayz standard by 7.8 c/ha. Protein content in dry matter is stable at 7.4% (maximum 9.1%), fiber is 31.9%, and protein collection reaches 2.7 c/ha (max. 5.3 c/ha). These indicators make the variety suitable for producing quality feeding hay.
TENHO has good disease resistance and is included in the State Register for the Central region under code 8756380. The crop is grown on soils with an alkaline reaction, with sufficient moisture levels and regular fertilization. For lawn use, the grass height should be no less than 4 cm, and sowing is best done in April – the first sprouts appear as early as a week.
The variety is packed in 25 kg bags, product purity reaches 99%, and it meets ISTA requirements. TENHO is suitable both for producing hay from field grasses and for creating lawn mixes, ensuring a stable cover without the need for frequent trimming.
