Table Beet Ovochevyi skarb

'Ovochevyi Skarb': A New Standard for Table Beetroot

Registered in 2025, the 'Ovochevyi Skarb' beetroot variety (breeder: Vovk Zhanna Mykolaivna) is an excellent choice for growers focusing on both the fresh market and processing. Its primary advantage lies in the root geometry: a very narrow, elongated shape with a pointed tip makes this beet highly convenient for industrial processing and kitchen preparation.

Marketability and Culinary Quality

The deep burgundy skin and purple flesh with moderate zoning ensure an attractive appearance. Thanks to the high length-to-width ratio, the roots look neat, which is a significant advantage for retail sales. The moderate ring visibility ensures uniformity when sliced, making it ideal for salads and culinary applications.

Agronomic Performance

The variety shows no or very weak bolting tendency during early sowing, allowing farmers to avoid yield losses in the spring. The medium soil penetration depth facilitates harvesting, while the moderate skin corking contributes to excellent storage life. The firm structure of the root ensures high transportability, allowing the produce to be delivered over long distances without losing its commercial appeal.
