Table Beet Konar

2025 Breeding Innovation: Konar F1 Table Beet

The 2025 Ukrainian State Register of Plant Varieties introduces a hybrid that redefines compactness and production efficiency. Konar F1, developed by Andrii Oleksiiovych Shevchenko, is designed for farmers who prioritize predictability and ease of harvest.

Why Konar F1 stands out

• Deep Root Placement: Unlike many varieties that sit high in the soil, Konar F1 forms its root deep underground. This protects the beet from temperature fluctuations and sunscald, ensuring a pristine skin appearance.
• Compact Foliage: The hybrid features a compact rosette with narrow, elliptical leaves growing in an upright position. This architecture allows for higher planting density, maximizing yield per hectare.
• Bolting Resistance: A major challenge for early-season growers is premature bolting. Konar F1 shows no tendency to bolt, making it a reliable choice for early harvests without the risk of quality loss.

Product Characteristics

The root is perfectly round with a neat, rounded tip. The internal structure shows moderate ring zoning, resulting in a uniform, deep purple flesh. The skin is reddish-purple with moderate corking, which ensures excellent shelf life and storage stability.

Konar F1 is the ideal choice for those seeking a balance between intense color and consistent size. Due to its high uniformity and compact nature, this hybrid is perfectly suited for supermarket retail, where strict calibration and visual appeal are essential.
