Ternopil 14 – a large-leaf tobacco variety distinguished by excellent smoking qualities, suitable for both cigarettes and pipe tobacco. This variety is an alternative to the well-known Virginia Gold, but specifically adapted to Ukrainian soil conditions, particularly chernozem soils, which allows maintaining high product quality without compromising taste characteristics.
The plant grows tall – 1.8–2.1 m, has early maturity, and ensures a yield in the range of 2.5–3 kg/m². Nicotine content is 1.2–1.3 %, meeting quality requirements for various tobacco types. The variety demonstrates complex disease resistance, reducing the need for agrochemical protection and increasing cultivation profitability.
Leaf harvesting is done only three times during the season without quality loss, ensuring a stable level of taste and aroma. Seed packaging – 0.1 g, which is convenient for agricultural enterprises and farmers planning large-scale cultivation of this variety.
