MC 401

MC 401 is a mid-late maturing simple interline hybrid of sweet corn with FAO maturity group 400, developed for grain, silage, and feed production. The hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 16.2 tons per hectare, and a pronounced Stay Green effect, indicating its resistance to stress factors and prolonged retention of green biomass. Plants reach a height of about 260 cm, and ears have a cylindrical shape with 16-18 rows of yellow dent kernels. MC 401 is well-adapted to climatic conditions of the Polesie, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, making it a versatile choice for various regions of the country. Ear attachment height is approximately 110 cm, and the hybrid’s ability to form two ears is low, which promotes resource concentration on forming a single, full-sized ear and increases grain yield. The MC 401 hybrid is distinguished by high productivity and resilience, enabling its effective use in agriculture for obtaining quality grain and feed biomass. Its characteristics make it attractive to farmers seeking stable and high yields under diverse agroclimatic zones of Ukraine.
