HARDY F1 is a mid-maturing SH2-type (super-sweet) hybrid of sweet corn of Dutch selection from Hazera and Pop Vriend Seeds companies. The maturation period is 75-78 days, which allows for harvest within optimal timing. The plant is tall, reaching up to 2-2.25 meters in height, with a powerful root system ensuring nutrition even under abnormal heat and drought conditions. The hybrid is characterized by high plasticity and resistance to stress factors, including drought, high temperatures, as well as fungal diseases such as corn mosaic and rust.
HARDY cobs have a cylindrical shape with a length of about 23-25 cm and a diameter of about 5.5 cm. They are covered with dense green leaves that reliably protect the crop from damage. The kernels are large, dense, shiny, bright yellow, arranged in 18-20 rows, with a kernel depth reaching 14 mm, which gives them meatiness and high sweetness. Sugar content in the kernels exceeds 25%, and after harvest, the sugar does not convert to starch, allowing the corn to retain freshness, juiciness, and attractive market appearance for a long time.
The hybrid yield is high and stable—one plant can produce 1-2, and according to some data up to 2.5 cobs, ensuring an output of 28-30 tons per hectare. Corn is suitable for mechanized harvesting, transports well over long distances, and can be used both for fresh market sales and for processing. Due to its qualities and resistance to adverse conditions, HARDY F1 is an excellent choice for growing sweet corn with superior taste and market characteristics.
