SURUS

SURUS is a mid-maturing sunflower hybrid intended for cultivation using the SUMO/Express technology. Plants reach heights from 160 to 194 cm and have a convex-shaped medium-sized flower. The vegetation period varies from 108 to 120 days, enabling the hybrid to successfully adapt to various soil-climatic conditions in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, and West Siberian regions. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 50 g, indicating good seed material quality.

The hybrid exhibits high oil content in seeds — up to 52% — making it one of the leaders in its maturity group for oil content. Potential yield reaches 45 centners per hectare, and oil extraction can amount to up to 2.3 tons per hectare, ensuring high economic efficiency of cultivation. SURUS is resistant to sulfonylurea herbicides, simplifying weed control and reducing agronomic costs.

Special attention has been given to the hybrid's resistance to major diseases and stress factors. SURUS demonstrates high tolerance to Phomopsis, dry and gray rot, false powdery mildew, rust, sclerotinia, alternaria, and fomosis, as well as to the A-E races of Sclerotinia. Additionally, the hybrid shows high resistance to lodging and stress, which contributes to stable yield formation even under adverse conditions. All these characteristics make SURUS a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality sunflower yields.
