Sunflower Santiago (Santos Plus) is a medium-early hybrid with a vegetation period of about 102-105 days, making it suitable for cultivation throughout Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia zones. This hybrid is characterized by its plasticity and adaptability to various agroclimatic conditions, ensuring stable yields even under extensive technology with minimal fertilizer doses.
Santiago is designed for "Clean Field" and "Clearfield" technologies, possessing genetic resistance to six races of flea beetle (kochia) and high resistance to the imidazolinone group (IMI). Additional weed control is possible using the herbicide Evrolighting. Plants reach a height of up to 160 cm, promoting good growth and yield formation.
The potential yield of this hybrid reaches 56-58 ц/ha, while actual yields under minimal technology range from 18-23 ц/ha depending on the region and weather conditions. Oil content in seeds varies from 52% to 58%, making Santiago an attractive choice for producers focused on high-quality oilseed raw material. The hybrid is drought-resistant and suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, ensuring reliable and efficient production.
