SHOLOKHOVSKY

The Sholokhovsky sunflower variety is an early-maturing, high-oil content variety created by individually-group selection and hybridization based on the Ataman and Salut varieties. It is characterized by a vegetative period from germination to harvest maturity of 98-100 days, which allows for crop yield in a short time. Plant height reaches 165-170 cm, and the mass of 1000 seeds is 70-80 g. The variety has high technicity and contains a leaf-fall gene in its genotype, which contributes to faster attainment of technical maturity.

Sholokhovsky is distinguished by high seed yield, which averages about 19.5-20 c/ha, with a potential of up to 30-31 c/ha under favorable conditions. Seed oil content varies from 51.5% to 54%, ensuring high fat content and, accordingly, high oil output. The variety is resistant to diseases such as Phoma, downy mildew, and also to a complex of root-knot nematodes, which increases its reliability and yield stability.

The recommended plant density for harvesting is 40-45 thousand per hectare, which is optimal for achieving maximum productivity. The variety is adapted for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga regions, where it shows high adaptability and stable yield and oil content indicators. Thanks to its characteristics, Sholokhovsky is a promising choice for producers focused on obtaining high-quality and high-oil content sunflower.
