Sunflower RPR 890 MNR

Field Performance of RPR 890 MNP

When working with RPR 890 MNP, the professional touch of French Lidea breeding becomes immediately apparent. This simple hybrid behaves predictably throughout the entire growing season. For agronomists utilizing the Clearfield (Euro-Lighting) technology, this sunflower variety has proven to be a reliable solution for weed control, especially in fields with significant infestation levels.

Vegetation and Harvesting

The 110-120 day maturity window allows for precise scheduling of harvesting operations. Reaching a height of 170-180 cm, the plants are well-suited for standard harvesting equipment. The cutting header operates smoothly with minimal losses, and the sturdy stalk structure prevents lodging even during late-season heavy rains.

Disease Resistance and Oil Content

Plant protection is where this hybrid truly shines. With strong genetic resistance to major threats, the workload regarding fungicide application is significantly reduced. Key features include:

• Excellent resistance to Phomopsis and Phoma.
• High tolerance to white and grey mold (Botrytis and Sclerotinia), ensuring healthy heads.
• Effective resistance against powdery mildew.

With an oil content ranging from 50% to 55%, the crop delivers solid economic value at the elevator. Combined with the ease of post-emergence weed control using imidazolinone herbicides, this hybrid allows for a clean field strategy that optimizes both time and input costs.
