The Sunflower Hybrid Odyssey IMI is a modern, high-yielding culture developed for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe regions of Ukraine. It is distinguished by its high yield and shatter resistance, ensuring harvest preservation during harvesting. The hybrid's vegetative period is 112-116 days, allowing for successful cultivation in both southern and northern regions of the country, including the Kherson and Chernihiv regions.
Odyssey IMI possesses genetic resistance to five races of root-knot nematode (A, B, C, D, E) and sunflower midge, as well as common sunflower diseases such as sclerotinia, Phoma, and white mold. Consequently, the hybrid demonstrates high disease resistance even under conditions of increased humidity and abundant rainfall. Additionally, the variety is characterized by high drought resistance, resistance to lodging and sunflower moth, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
Hybrid seeds are large, with a high oil yield—about 49%, which ensures additional economic benefit during processing. The hybrid tolerates the application of the herbicide Euro-Lightning well, allowing for effective weed control and increasing crop productivity. Odyssey IMI is recommended for cultivation on various soil types, including poor and arid ones, which expands its application possibilities in the agricultural sector.
