Sunflower Na Dersan

Technological Potential of the Na Dersan Hybrid

The Na Dersan sunflower, a breeding product from Nertus, is a simple hybrid engineered for intensive farming, specifically adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine. The core technical solution is the integration of the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) protection system, allowing agronomists to effectively manage weeds and eliminate competition for moisture during critical plant development phases.

Phytosanitary Resistance and Morphology

The hybrid's biological foundation relies on comprehensive resistance to key pathogens that limit yields in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Breeding efforts led by Mykola Viacheslavovych Mykhno have resulted in high immunity against:

• Phomopsis and Phoma;
• Rust;
• Powdery mildew.

A stalk height of 160–170 cm ensures optimal foliage distribution, which is critical for photosynthetic activity. The narrow-ovate and elongated black seeds contribute to uniform head filling. The convex, medium-sized head allows the plant to efficiently utilize moisture during grain filling.

Economic Indicators

With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, Na Dersan is classified as an early-maturing hybrid, offering flexibility in harvest planning and the ability to avoid late-season precipitation. An oil content of 45–50% makes this hybrid highly attractive for processing, ensuring significant profitability when cultivation protocols are followed.
