Sunflower NA Kairo

Stable yields under high pest pressure

Choosing a sunflower hybrid for farms operating in regions with high pest concentrations often becomes a balancing act between yield potential and insecticide protection costs. The "NA Kairos" hybrid by Nertus is a tool designed to optimize the agronomic calendar and mitigate the risks of crop loss caused by the most aggressive insects.

Protection against stem and leaf pests

A critical issue for many farms is the infestation of the meadow moth and the cotton bollworm. These pests can significantly thin out crops in a short time, which not only reduces the thousand-grain weight but also opens the door to secondary infections. The genetic resistance of "NA Kairos" to these pests does not eliminate the need for field monitoring, but it significantly raises the economic threshold of damage. This means that with moderate infestation levels, you can save on unplanned insecticide applications without compromising the health of the crop.

Practical application in crop rotation

This hybrid from Nertus demonstrates excellent plasticity when grown under intensive farming conditions in Ukraine. It fits perfectly into crop rotations where sunflower occupies traditional positions. Agronomists select "NA Kairos" to address the following challenges:

• Minimizing protection costs in areas with a persistent background presence of the cotton bollworm.
• Reducing phytosanitary risks on fields adjacent to shelterbelts or fallow lands, where the population of the meadow moth is traditionally high.
• Achieving stable yields on various soil types due to the hybrid's high adaptive capacity to environmental stress factors.

When sowing, it is recommended to adhere to optimal seeding rates for your region to ensure proper root system development and efficient moisture utilization. This allows the hybrid to effectively realize its inherent productivity potential even during the dry seasons characteristic of many regions in the country.
