Sunflower LG50459 SX

Technological Potential and Crop Quality of LG50459 SX

The 2025 French selection from Limagrain offers farmers an intensive sunflower hybrid focused on producing high-quality commercial grain. Thanks to the Express technology, farmers gain a tool for effective weed control, which directly impacts the purity of the harvest and ensures the absence of foreign matter in commercial batches.

Processing and Commercial Characteristics

The primary purpose of LG50459 SX is industrial processing at oil extraction plants. The hybrid's intensive growth type ensures the formation of well-filled heads with high oil content. For processors, this translates into a stable yield of finished products and predictable oil content metrics. The grain possesses excellent test weight, simplifying cleaning and drying processes at elevators.

Logistics and Storage

High resistance to phomopsis and phoma, embedded in the hybrid's genetics, guarantees the integrity of the achenes until harvest. This is critical for transportability: healthy grain is less prone to mechanical damage during loading and long-distance transport. When moisture levels are managed correctly, the seeds demonstrate excellent storage stability, allowing farmers to be flexible with their sales timelines without fear of losing commercial appeal or quality.

• High initial growth energy ensures uniform crop establishment.
• Full resistance to broomrape (races A-G) eliminates the risk of crop loss in infested fields.
• Adaptability to Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones allows for stable supply planning.
