The LG57400 AR sunflower hybrid, introduced by Limagrain Europe and registered in Ukraine in 2025, is an F1 hybrid designed for intensive farming. Achieving its full yield potential requires strict adherence to specific agronomic practices tailored to local soil and climatic conditions.

Sowing Strategy and Plant Density

Sowing should commence when soil temperatures reach +8…+10°C at the seeding depth. To ensure uniform emergence and optimal root development, the following plant densities at harvest are recommended:

• High-moisture zones: 55,000 – 60,000 plants per hectare.
• Arid regions: 45,000 – 50,000 plants per hectare.

Avoiding over-seeding is crucial to prevent intra-species competition for sunlight and nutrients, which can negatively impact head development.

Soil Requirements and Crop Management

LG57400 AR performs best on fertile, well-structured soils with a neutral pH. Weed control during the early development stages (from emergence to the 4-leaf stage) is vital for protecting the crop's initial growth phase. Fertilizer application should be based on soil testing, focusing on phosphorus and potassium availability during the budding phase to support stalk strength and seed filling.

During the 6–8 leaf stage, regular monitoring for pests and diseases is essential to determine the timing for fungicide or insecticide applications. The hybrid shows excellent stability when integrated into a proper crop rotation, with winter cereals serving as the most favorable preceding crops.
