The "Ravin" hybrid from VNIS is a 2025 selection novelty focused on producing high-quality raw materials for the oil and fat industry. Due to its intensive growth type and early maturity (105–108 days), the crop demonstrates stable oil accumulation at 52–54%. For processors, this translates into a high yield of the final product with minimal post-harvest processing costs.

Marketability and Storage

High resistance to a complex of pathogens (phomopsis, phoma, downy mildew — 9 points) ensures the production of plump, full-weight grain with excellent organoleptic properties. The absence of rot (8 points) is critical for long-term storage: Ravin seeds are less prone to self-heating and spoilage in silos, which simplifies logistics and allows farmers to hold stock until market prices peak.

Harvest Economics

• Transportability: Uniformity of the crop and optimal height (170–180 cm) ensure even ripening of the heads, which reduces losses during harvesting and simplifies cleaning.
• Potential: With recommended plant density (45–55 thousand plants/ha depending on the zone), the hybrid can produce up to 5.8 t/ha, ensuring high profitability under intensive cultivation technologies.
• Protection: Genetic resistance to broomrape (A-G+) allows for cultivation in fields with high infection pressure without the risk of losing the crop's market appearance.
