Sunflower LG50465

Cultivation Technology for LG50465

A new selection from Limagrain Europe, registered in Ukraine in 2026, this sunflower hybrid requires strict adherence to agronomic protocols to reach its full yield potential. While LG50465 demonstrates high adaptability, it is sensitive to plant density and sowing timing.

Sowing and Density Guidelines

The optimal sowing window for LG50465 begins when soil temperatures at seeding depth reach +10...+12°C. Early sowing allows for the most efficient use of winter and spring moisture. Recommended plant density at harvest:

• Under sufficient moisture conditions: 50,000 – 55,000 plants per hectare.
• Under arid conditions: 45,000 – 50,000 plants per hectare.

Exceeding these rates leads to competition for light and moisture, which negatively impacts oil content.

Agronomic Management by Growth Stage

Emergence to 4-leaf stage: Weed control is critical during this phase. The hybrid responds well to micronutrient applications, particularly boron, which is essential for head development. Budding to flowering: This is the critical moisture-demand phase. If possible, plan fungicide applications to protect the leaf canopy, as LG50465 produces significant vegetative mass.

Soil and Nutrient Requirements

The hybrid performs best on chernozem and chestnut soils with a neutral pH. Avoid fields prone to waterlogging. The fertilization program should be balanced, focusing on nitrogen during early stages and potassium for kernel filling. Excessive nitrogen can cause lodging, so split applications are highly recommended.
