Sunflower LG 50480

LG 50480 is an early, high-yielding sunflower hybrid characterized by drought and disease resistance, including resistance to race A-G of downy mildew and new strains of false powdery mildew. Plants of this hybrid have a medium height of about 140 cm, providing good resistance to lodging. The flower head diameter is approximately 17 cm, and the 1000-seed mass is 67 grams. The hybrid has a high oil yield, reaching up to 50%, making it attractive for oilseed production.

The LG 50480 hybrid is recommended for cultivation in southern and eastern regions, where it demonstrates stable yields with a potential of more than 42 centners per hectare. Due to its broad and large leaves, the plants effectively cover the soil, which helps reduce water evaporation and increases resistance to stressful conditions. The vegetation period ranges from 105 to 112 days, corresponding to the mid-early maturity group.

The cultivation technology for this hybrid is traditional, with a recommended planting density of 55-60 thousand plants per hectare in areas with sufficient moisture and 50-55 thousand in areas with insufficient moisture. LG 50480 also features high initial growth energy and good resistance to cold, fomopsis, white rot, charcoal rot, and fomosis, making it a reliable choice for farmers facing aggressive races of downy mildew and other pathogens.
